The Mzansi Super League has announced Sony Pictures Networks India as its media rights partner on the Indian sub-continent.
The deal covers the 2019 edition of the MSL, which got underway last week and runs until 16 December. It covers rights in India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Coverage will be on sports channels Sony Six and Sony ESPN.
The deal was agreed by Cricket South Africa and its commercial rights agent, the Singapore-based Global Sports Commerce. GSC has a five-year deal with CSA covering rights for the event from its inaugural 2018 year until 2022.
Coverage of the MSL is also available on GSC’s OTT platform Cricket Gateway, whilst the SABC is broadcasting the tournament locally.
